Marisol Ledesma (John Jay College ’12) – John Jay College (June 2011)

“I would like to say that my experience with the PreProBono was excellent. I’m more focused and have a clearer plan of action for preparing for the LSAT. The staff was incredible and truly dedicated. Everyone involved in PreProBono truly believes in encouraging diversity within the legal profession. Additionally, the PreProBono program provides accessibility to various populations that systematically are underrepresented in the legal profession, which is integral to the program’s success. Continue the great job and service you all provide to us, your students, alumni/donors and future lawyers!”

Terrance Barbee (Hunter College ’11) – Hunter College (April 2011)

“After attending PreProBono weekend, I am excited about studying for the LSAT. I have gained more confidence to approach the test. PreProBono is a great organization, and I hope to attend another event at a later date.”

Zaur Gajiev (Hunter College ’10) – Hunter College (April 2011)

“I loved the teachers’ enthusiasm with the course, and the amount of participation encouraged in the classroom. It is always a pleasure to sit in a classroom (even for 16 hours) when the instructor is fun, energetic, helpful, and motivating! Thank you for a great and valuable learning experience!”

Catherine Simes (Wellesley College ’11) – Harvard (November 2010)

“To be honest, I was kind of skeptical at first. A free LSAT course that teaches you everything you need to know in one weekend, not to mention networking opportunities – just sounds unbelievable. And it is. It was the most incredible, challenging, informative, intense but fun (yes fun) weekend! I feel prepared and motivated to review with the other PreProBono students from my session that I wouldn’t have met otherwise. Thank you!!”

Theresa Lin (Wellesley College ’12) – Harvard (November 2010)

“PreProBono gave me the right amount of confidence to go back and prep for the LSAT on my own, applying the knowledge, tools, and skills acquired from the two-day, intensive course. Initially, I had my doubts about PreProBono when I first heard about it. A FREE LSAT prep course? But this is no scam. Honestly, I am blown away by the high-quality teaching and overall organization of the program. From beginning to end, every minute of the 20+ hours of rigorous learning was stimulating, helpful, and so rewarding. Not only do you feel empowered to tackle the LSAT, you also become acquainted with the wonderful people that make up PreProBono. They are your friends! If you are serious about studying and taking the LSAT, don’t be shy and apply to PreProBono. You have nothing to lose.”

Irina Mironova (Baruch ’12) – Baruch (October 2010)

“You are really making a difference for students. I must say that [the instructor] and all of you guys are a true inspiration for students. The fact that you are so young, but so giving is a great motivation to grow as an individual. I really enjoyed the course.”

Daria Spieler (Baruch ’12) – Baruch (October 2010)

“You are doing a really really good job! maybe you don’t even know how good you are! … Thank you all 100 times!!!!”

Asha George (Baruch ’11) – Baruch (October 2010)

“This was an amazing program and an invaluable experience. The intensive explanations of each question type and strategies for tackling them was so comprehensive and will help me immensely as I continue to study. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WEEKEND!”

Gabrielle Gould (Harvard ’11) – Harvard (March 2010)

“PreProBono was amazing. ran the course incredibly well and taught everything in such an organized and clear way that learning how to take the LSATs became almost easy. Instead of stressing out about the LSATs, studying for them has actually been an enjoyable part of my semester. But beyond the instruction itself, meeting a group of people with similar career interests was a very cool opportunity. It’s great to know that there are people and programs that support public interest. Overall, I loved the program and am so happy to have taken part!”

Sarah Hunter (BU ’11) – Harvard (March 2010)

“The Preprobono program has really helped me learn to recognize and approach the various types of questions on the LSAT. I feel like with a little more practice using the skills they gave me that I will go into test day confident and well-prepared. The program is great and you meet some really awesome people that want to make a difference in their communities. The instructors really want you to learn and are willing to go over a problem with you and until you fully understand it. I would strongly recommend this program to anyone who needs to improve on the LSAT and learn about law school in general.”

Hollie Gilman (University of Chicago) – Harvard (March 2010)

“PreProBono is a terrific and much needed service in order to ensure that students have the opportunities to engage in the much needed forms of pro-bono law within the United States. Having taken two Kaplan classes, I can without a doubt that I wish I had known about PreProBono from the start because the teachers at PreProBono were so much more qualified than the ones at Kaplan. The teachers are able to get to the essence and the core of the LSAT in a way that is truly remarkable. This enables the students to form a deep understanding and connection with the test. The teachers were extremely accommodating, helpful, supportive, and able to offer counsel and advice 24/7. All LSAT takers would be well advised to take PreProBono.”

Adriana DelGizzi (Wellesley College ’11) – Harvard (March 2010)

“I used to think “free” meant cheap or mediocre…until my PreProBono weekend. The teaching style made the long days enjoyable and interesting, and sharing the same enthusiasm for public interest law as the fellow students helped create a friendly atmosphere from the start. If you are motivated to really learn the ins and outs of the LSAT, this course is for you – you will not find the same dedication elsewhere.”

Chi Zou (Columbia ’11) – Columbia (March 2010)

“Could you ever imagine a fun weekend full of LSAT? If you couldn’t, then definitely attend the Preprobono course! Thanks to the brilliant and interesting instructor, I not only improved so much on logical reasoning but also left feeling smarter than before. Really! The whole week following that weekend, I looked at the world from the perspective of LSAT’s logic and the instructor’s analysis. It influences me much more than I have expected. This nice weekend will certainly be an inspiration to me when preparing for the seemingly daunting test in the following months.”

Alexander Cheung (Columbia College ’10) – New York (March 2010)

“This program is not just phenomenal for its honestly great teaching, but it’s also so for the network you can gain from being part of such a great community interested and invested in pro bono and service-oriented legal work now or in the future.”

Esther Choi (Columbia College) – New York (March 2010)

“Before I participated in PreProBono, I hadn’t even begun to think about the LSAT because just the thought of studying left me feeling overwhelmed and discouraged. I didn’t think that a weekend course would make the difference, but this course was exactly what I needed to help me realize that the LSAT is completely manageable. The instructor shared with us his insightful perspectives on the test itself and his clever methods on how to crack every possible type of question, and I left feeling like I could reasonably take the test right then and there and get a good score. I probably won’t take any LSAT classes after this because I feel I’ve been equipped with the tools I need to figure this out on my own!”

Nicole Otero (Columbia College) – New York (March 2010)

“My PreProBono experience was incredible. It was a productive, supportive, and engaging weekend that not only left me feeling prepared to tackle the challenge of studying for and taking the LSAT, but it also left me feeling motivated for the greater task of striving towards public interest. The PreProBono instructor is a very sharp, smart teacher who wants you to not only get the right answer but to understand what you’re doing. His teaching style and energy are refreshing. (Especially compared to regular testprep courses) I didn’t feel like I was stuck in a room studying for a really lame test — I wanted to be there! And the PRePRoBono Coordinator was a great resource and a bit of comic relief all weekend! Thank you so very much! Everyone looking to take the LSAT would be better off with PreProbono!”

Iwalani Ohia – Honolulu (August 2009)

“I can’t say enough about the PreProBono presented in Honolulu. Before the review, I felt very apprehensive about taking the LSAT. I didn’t think I would get such a comprehensive overview of the exam as I did from PreProBono. The style of instruction made it easy for me to distinguish a strategic approach to tackling even the most complex of questions. I have been practicing on my own since the class and find that my ability to choose correct answers has improved immensely. I would recommend this review to anyone wanting to improve their test scores. As we say in Hawaii, Mahalo Nui Loa (thank you very much) PrePreBono, the class was priceless. I hope you continue providing this course to prospective law students, it is truly invaluable. Much Aloha for your kindness.”

Ken Knight (NYU ’10) – New York (November 2009)

“In the space of two days, I started acing LSATs. Honestly, I didn’t even expect to be able to sit through two days of non-stop test prep. But it happened. And it was fun. And I would do it again.

I’ve never taken any other LSAT classes, so I can’t really compare, but after this one I don’t really need to. It’s also free.”

Amber Min-lee (NYU Wagner ’07) – New York (November 2009)

“The entire PreProBono experience felt like an abridged “Lewis and Clark expedition,” navigating the key strategies and concepts for successfully conquering the LSATs… but you leave feeling confident about tackling the LSATs and fortunate for being selected as a participant. The instructor was brilliant, witty, well-spoken and very, very patient. He possessed a natural ability to translate daunting concepts into straightforward and effective strategies. It was quite obvious that he genuinely wanted everyone to perform well on the LSATs. The program coordinator lined up fantastic guest speakers for us to pick their brains on about law school and experiences, all the while providing dinner for us. PreProBono is a must for all pre-professional students and alums considering law school.

Also the two key folks involved are modern day Starsky & Hutch (reference to the original 70′s series) of nonprofit world, each with their own strong sense of social responsibility and unfailing belief in the abilities of students/people to make a difference in creating a better society. They were simply awesome and inspiring in their own right.”

Marsha Sukach (Harvard College ’11) – Boston (October 2009)

“I just want to say how incredibly useful your class has been. It really equipped me with the tools that I need to improve on my own.

When I started studying, I really didn’t know how to approach some of the questions. PreProBono set me up to study on my own and taught me strategies that I can apply to new questions as the question types become more familiar. I didn’t feel like studying on my own would have been enough, and from what I gather this was much more effective than a couple thousand-dollar course.”

Naoreen Chowdhury (NYU ’08) – New York (March 2009)

“The PreProBono workshop has genuinely reshaped my vision of law. I left with a renewed sense of purpose. The instructor was amazing; not only was he knowledgeable and patient but he answered and covered EVERY single nuance and student question using actual LSAT material. The speakers did an equally amazing job with their realistic vignettes. Definitely worth the two day sacrifice, DO NOT miss out. I’m almost too excited to take this test. And yes, I did just say that.”

Rose Carmen Goldberg (Columbia, SIPA ’08) – New York (February 2008)

“I have never before had so much fun studying for a standardized exam. [The instructor]‘s teaching prowess was evident in his ability to lead the class through massive amounts of material while also pushing individual students to develop and strengthen their critical reasoning. The rigor of the class along with practical advice from weathered public interest lawyers and the opportunity to share concerns and stories with others aspiring to enter the profession made the two days pass like minutes. ”

Boin Cheong (Columbia ’09) – New York (April 2008)

When I went into my first LSAT class with PreProBono, I didn’t quite know what to expect. I hadn’t signed up for any Kaplan or Princeton Review LSAT classes but had heard various negative stories about them. I wasn’t quite motivated enough to study for the exam by myself, either, so I went in thinking it couldn’t hurt. It definitely made a difference, though, that the instructor had only recently taken the LSAT himself. I remember that weekend being strangely quite fun. I even enjoyed doing the Logic Games! [The instructor] made everything seem so logical and things made sense the way he explained them. It was really good to also talk to him about my concerns about law school applications in general; because he had just gone through the process, he was a lot more helpful with his advice than those who do it for a living. We could all relate easily to him and that made the experience very enjoyable. This is also why I immediately signed up for a second session when I found out they were returning to New York; and they definitely didn’t disappoint their students! Who would have thought that studying for LSATs could be enjoyable!

Jenny Bach (Columbia ’03) – New York (September 2008)

PreProBono completely blew my expectations out of the water; I honestly learned more in the PreProBono weekend than I did in the 4 month LSAT course I overpaid for. The instructor really knew his stuff and made sure it hit home for each of us in the larger sense of logic and law school and not just limited to the LSAT. I feel genuinely inspired by the other PreProBono students and their passion to do their part in changing the world. I realized that idealism can become realism and that passion not motivated merely by economic standards is not dead from my PreProBono experience.”

Linda Moon (NYU ’10) – New York (September 2008)

Inspirational, fun and definitely helpful! I walked out of the door on Sunday night and felt like I was ready to tackle the LSAT, fully armed with all kinds of strategies. PreProBono not only helped me to approach LSAT questions fearlessly but connected me to many wonderful people. It felt overwhelmingly terrific to be around such passionate and focused people.”

Richard S. Hu (NYU ’09) – New York (September 2008)

PreProBono was awesome! [The instructor] is able to very systematically demystify the LSAT and offer proven strategies for tackling it. If you are serious about obtaining your best possible LSAT score AND have a passion for public interest law, you simply have to participate in PreProBono. ”

Aretha Soderstrom (NYU ’10) – New York (September 2008)

“I went into the PreProBono program expecting it to be filled with stuck-up, cold, pre-law students, but it turned out the be the exact opposite. The long hours of LSAT preparation passed like minutes. The people were kind and willing to help in any way, and the instructor was AMAZING, and so knowledgeable. It’s a wonderful program, I can’t say enough good things about PreProBono. All I know is that I’m planning on attending the next session I can.”

Tawanna Shaw (CUNY Hunter ’09) – New York (September 2008)

“Being apart of the PreProBono weekend class was a phenomenal experience. The ability to receive first hand information on how to beat the LSAT from someone who performed extraordinarily well was definitely beneficial, especially because he took the test recently and not 20 years ago. All in all, this was definitely worth my money and weekend!!!”

Bronwyn James (NYU ’09) – New York (September 2008)

“Though I was already very prepared for the LSATs, PreProBono was a valuable experience. [The instructors] are unbelievably generous and helpful–they do absolutely everything in their power to help you succeed. It is nice as well to get to know other students in your shoes, to share worries, thoughts, goals, and tips. My favorite part of the experience–a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity–was having dinner with a dean of admissions from Harvard. This simply does not happen anywhere else. He sat for a while at each table of only about 5 students and answered every question he was asked, and was very helpful. It was a very different type of conversation than you can have at any other similar event; much more relaxed, much more honest, and so much more helpful. I highly recommend the workshop, even if for this reason alone.”

Estelle Baik (Boston College ’12) – Boston (November 2008)

No written testimonial. Please infer Estelle’s opinion of PreProBono from the beautiful gingerbread house she skillfully constructed for us. Thanks Estelle! It was almost too beautiful to eat. Or, rather, it was too delicious not to eat.

Jillian Ezra (NYU ’08) – New York (March 2009)

“The weekend was jam packed with hard (but realistic) review questions divided by topic, and put together in a logical format which will make studying later much easier. You also get to take home the hundreds of questions that you go over during the weekend, which are handpicked from recent practice tests to illustrate certain things to look out for in each question. The teacher was excellent, and genuinely interested in what he was teaching. I am so fortunate to have been a part of the weekend of learning, and I feel much more competent now in my studying. I highly recommend the class to anyone who has an interest in scoring well on the LSATs.”

Dan Nechita (Columbia ’09) – New York (March 2009)

“This weekend has been so useful. Not only do I now have a better idea of what the LSAT is in general, but I can also confidently say that I learned tricks and methods (thanks [The instructor]!!) that I never would have discovered studying by myself. I feel that [the instructor]‘s training would enable me to answer ANY question I encounter with sufficient time on my hands (which was not the case before), so all I need to do now practice a lot to improve speed –and that’s no small thing! You guys are great!

Brooke Forde (Columbia ’07) – New York (March 2009)

“PreProBono weekend was an amazing experience. The material was presented in a very solid way, they really make it stick. [The instructor] does a great job of explaining questions while still going over a massive amount of information. It was truly a great push in the right direction. By the end of the weekend, you can turn just about any statement into a contrapositive and back. The rules of the LSAT make so much more sense now. [The instructor] is a great source of information for applying for law school is just awesome. The speakers were interesting, they guided us through their paths from college to law school to jobs and careers. It was very helpful to get some pointers on the law school and post law school life. Thanks so much guys!”

Brian Bangerter (University of Minnesota) – Minneapolis (August 2009)

“Before taking this class I figured I could waltz through the LSAT as if it were any other test, which I’m sure most pre-law students mistakenly think. I learned very quickly in the class that I couldn’t have been more wrong, as the instructor started to get into actual samples from actual LSATs. The lessons I learned were invaluable to the level of success that I now expect from myself as a result of the class. The most important thing to know is that these guys are legitimately passionate about preparing you for true LSAT success. This is not a glorified lesson in games and gimmicks that often do not translate to the actual LSAT, like a lot of the more expensive classes out there. This is real LSAT training, and if you are serious about going to law school, you should take this class.

Jesse Busta (University of Minnesota) – Minneapolis (August 2009)

“The two-day PreProBono session was extremely helpful in ironing out the concepts that one must know in order to do well on the LSAT. [The instructor] did a tremendous job in explaining things clearly and fully. This was a great opportunity to take a quality crash course on the LSAT for such a great price. Take advantage of it.

Kimberly Current (University of Minnesota) – Minneapolis (August 2009)

“I am grateful for the opportunity for the LSAT jam with [the instructor] at a very reduced price.

I was so impressed with several things about the program.

1) [The instructor] is a down-to-earth guy. You wouldn’t know he studies at Harvard Law School.

2) [The instructor] is really intelligent and also knows how to teach. He is also very patient.

3) [The instructor] loves what he is doing. He gives his heart and soul to this class.

4) I still don’t understand why he sweats over this any without pay. He must have been exhausted after the last day of class.

I admire his dedication. He’s an inspiration. I got new energy to study harder for my LSAT.

DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! YOU ROCK! THANKS.”

Mark Thomson (University of Minnesota) – Minneapolis (August 2009)

You have not understood the LSAT until you take PreProBono. The instructor delves into every facet of the LSAT with so much depth and precision that the course renders all other LSAT courses unnecessary. PreProBono is fantastic for meeting prelaw students with similar interests and even better if you are legitimately interested in getting a high LSAT score.”

Caoagas Arlene – Honolulu (August 2009)

“It got me thinking that being a lawyer isn’t just about making money but helping people out with the gifts that you have.

Wasn’t expecting that LSAT’s would be that hard but after the class I have an understanding to why the answers to the questions are the correct answers and [the instructor] made it a lot more understandable!! Thanks for coming down to Hawaii and putting up with me and all of my questions.”

Toshi Takahashi (Soka University of America) – Honolulu (August 2009)

“I learned to view the LSAT in a way that allows me to see it within one single framework. [The instructor] explained things ridiculously clearly, granted he is a genius, and did his best to allow us to see the world as a genius does (at least for a few moments). I think the most important thing that I gained from this experience, though, is not necessarily the technical skills associated with doing well on any particular LSAT question, but the studying methods and motivation to do my best.

Mara Kapano (UCLA) – Los Angeles (August 2009)

“After I took the class I became more excited about pursuing a law degree because I now believe I do have the ability to take the LSATs!

I thought the class was excellent. The entire basis for everything was solving the equation that [the instructor] taught us at the beginning of the class.”

Frances Valdovinos – Los Angeles (August 2009)

“Preprobono has definitely been an influence in how I will practice law and public service in general. Helping others without getting anything in return is a great feeling.

PreProBono has being highly influential on how I will proceed with my study habits. It has definitely helped me understand a little better the way the LSAT experience will be. They did an awesome job and I know that I can count on them for any questions and help I might have. THANKS PREPROBONO!!!!

Giovanni Albertolli (Sonoma State University) – Berkeley/San Francisco (August 2009)

No gimmicks, straight to the point from day one.”

Fatima Garcia (University of Minnesota) – Minneapolis (August 2009)

“It was really nice that these two gentlemen took time from their day to do this program. It showed me how there are people out there that care for the community and try to improve it.”

Sarah Shook (University of Minnesota) – Minneapolis (August 2009)

“I enjoyed hearing about ways to engage in social change outside of non-profit work.”
